Green environmental protection is the mission of LED light source

Vulcanization is a "cancer" of LED devices . The industry has been working hard to improve its ability to resist vulcanization in order to achieve higher reliability, reliability and further increase the life of light sources. Recently, Flory Optoelectronics (Suzhou) Co., Ltd. successfully developed a high-anti-vulcanization LED aqueous coating technology (Figure 1). Comparative vulcanization experiments show that light decay is less than 2% (at 170 °C vulcanization conditions), far superior to devices without aqueous coatings (9.56% for light decay) and devices from other suppliers in the industry (light decay 31.74%).

As the fourth-generation light source, LED has the characteristics of energy saving (close to 60% electro-optical conversion efficiency), environmental protection (LED is composed of non-toxic materials), safety, long life (the theoretical value can reach 100,000 hours), etc. Widely used in various fields such as indication, display, decoration, backlight, lighting, etc. Compared with incandescent lamps (about 10% electro-optical conversion efficiency, 1000 hours life), fluorescent lamps (about 30% electro-optical conversion efficiency, harmful and environmentally harmful elements such as mercury, about 3.5-5mg / only), led light source The advantages of energy saving and green environmental protection are particularly prominent.

In order to further enhance the environmental protection advantages of the semiconductor and LED industries , many companies and institutions have invested heavily in the improvement of materials and processes in order to achieve more beneficial effects on human health and environmental protection. The EU took the lead in enacting legislation and implementing the mandatory standard RoHS, the full name of the Restriction of Hazardous Substances, which is mainly used to regulate the materials and processes of electrical and electronic products. standard.

Effect of vulcanization on LED

A silver plating layer is often used in the holder of the LED device to increase the light extraction rate. However, in the daily use of the LED light source, small molecules containing sulfur in the environment will penetrate into the inside of the stent under a certain temperature and humidity, and chemically react with silver to cause vulcanization. After the vulcanization phenomenon occurs, the LED function area will be blackened, the luminous flux will gradually decrease, the color temperature will obviously drift, and some will have leakage phenomenon, and more serious dead lights will appear. Therefore, the LED industry has been working hard to improve the resistance of the device to vulcanization. In addition to improving the vulcanization resistance of phenyl silica gel, Japanese international companies have also introduced anti-vulcanization coatings based on organic solutions. Although its anti-vulcanization performance is excellent, since the organic solvent content exceeds 95%, it is necessary to consider fireproofing, explosion-proof, human hazard and environmental impact during use.

Flory's C15-01 aqueous solution LED anti-vulcanization coating

Adhering to the "green to good" research and development and production purposes, Flory Optoelectronics has been committed to the development of green and environmentally friendly optoelectronic packaging materials since its inception. Recently, Flory Optoelectronics (Suzhou) Co., Ltd. successfully developed a high-anti-vulcanization LED aqueous coating technology (Figure 1 and Figure 2). “After a large number of tests, Flory has independently developed environmentally friendly, high-sulfur-resistant LED aqueous coatings, which currently exhibit excellent anti-vulcanization properties on SMD devices and are certified and in production in LED packaging companies.
