VR Network reported that the fifth Guangxi Youth Science Festival will take place at the Guangxi Science and Technology Museum starting on September 16 and will run until October 31. This annual event is co-sponsored by several key organizations, including the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Association for Science and Technology, the Civilization Office, the Department of Education, the Department of Science and Technology, and the Guangxi Provincial Committee of the Communist Youth League. The Guangxi Science and Technology Museum, the Guangxi Youth Science and Technology Center, and the Guangxi Youth Education and Training Center are the main organizers.
At the entrance of the main stadium, visitors can see a variety of innovative science and technology works created by young students. These include a "coin sorting machine" designed to save time and labor, a "portable muddy slaughter device" that helps avoid handling slippery cockroaches, and research on the preparation of tumor microwave hyperthermia sensitizers.
Zone B offers an immersive experience with virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) technologies. Visitors can explore ancient civilizations in a virtual world or float through space using VR headsets. In the light and shadow park, they can observe how light spreads through fiber optics. Meanwhile, the "Science at the Tip of the Tongue" section combines food with science, allowing attendees to learn while enjoying meals.
In Zone C, the focus is on drones and combat vehicles. The Guangxi Science and Technology Museum has partnered with DJI and the Guangxi Drone Enthusiast League to create an interactive platform where visitors can build and operate drones, as well as control small CS unmanned ground vehicles. Professional agricultural aircraft and DIY aerial drones are also on display.
The festival also features lectures by renowned experts, such as Professor Sun Weixin from the Taiwan Science Museum and Professor Li Jiawei from Tsinghua University in Taiwan. These sessions aim to inspire young people to engage more deeply with science and technology.
For many years, the Guangxi Youth Science Festival has become a popular regional event, attracting over 1 million young participants across 14 cities in the region. This year’s edition will continue to encourage participation through school visits, exhibitions, competitions, and hands-on activities. With its growing influence, the festival remains a key platform for promoting scientific knowledge and enhancing the scientific literacy of the youth.
