Volvo XC60 is known as the safest luxury SUV, the new car is expected to be sold for 358,900, and the old model will be reduced by 100,000.

The Volvo XC60 is set to be replaced later this year, and the new model is essentially a scaled-down version of the XC90. Big Lion has always believed that Volvo owners are both thoughtful and discerning. The all-new Volvo XC60 is scheduled to hit the market in December, with a competitive starting price of 358,900 yuan. As for the platform, Volvo’s SPA architecture allows for versatile chassis configurations suitable for mid-sized and large vehicles. This flexibility enables tailored adjustments to the interior space based on specific vehicle attributes. Besides the upcoming new XC90 and XC60, future models like the S60 and V60 will also be built on this platform. By cutting down on development costs, Volvo will simultaneously enhance its entire lineup. With this trend, the standard Quake's Hammer LED headlights may soon become a reality. In addition to component interoperability, the SPA platform facilitates various powertrain strategies, including auto stop-start, hybrid power, and pure electric drive. Extensive use of boron steel in the lightweight construction improves overall rigidity and durability, further enhancing occupant safety. The new Volvo XC60 offers two distinct styles: the standard version and the R-Design sport version. Both designs will be available upon domestic production, though the exact dimensions following the extended wheelbase remain unclear. The “Quake's Hammer” LED headlights and Viking Tomahawk taillights will feature prominently on the new XC60. The R-Design sport version’s oversized air intake is particularly striking, making the big lion brother eager to own one! The interior of the new XC60 mirrors that of the S90, exuding a rich Nordic aesthetic—simple yet sophisticated. The center console incorporates plenty of soft materials, and the stitching quality ensures excellent visual and tactile appeal. The new City Safety urban safety system enhances the car’s safety credentials. Additionally, a fully digital instrument cluster and a large infotainment display are included. The top-tier model even comes equipped with a Bowers & Wilkins premium sound system. However, the Nordic design does have a downside: the seating, while soft and supportive, feels somewhat narrow. Hopefully, this will change with the domestic variant. The rear seats’ backrest angle and seat length are more comfortable for long-distance travel. The top trim level also includes front and rear seat heating and four-zone automatic climate control. Adding seat ventilation would be a welcome touch. In terms of power, the new XC60 will offer not just the T5 version but also a more potent T6 and a T8 hybrid model. All three variants utilize a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine. The T5/T6 versions come in high and low power outputs, while the T8 adds an electric motor. The T5 generates up to 254 horsepower (187 kW) with a peak torque of 350 Nm, whereas the T6 delivers 320 horsepower (235 kW) and 400 Nm of torque, both paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. The most significant improvement in this XC60 redesign lies in its suspension. The new model employs a front double wishbone independent suspension, which outperforms the conventional MacPherson setup in terms of handling. The rear suspension adopts a multi-link setup with leaf springs made from transverse fiberglass material. This modification reduces weight by 12% to 15% while also saving space, thereby increasing interior room. While the Volvo XC60 has always been known as the safest luxury SUV, the new model is poised to maintain that reputation. With its sleek design, advanced technology, and enhanced performance, it promises to be a strong contender in the mid-luxury segment.
