As an important auxiliary material for LED packaging, phosphors and glues occupy a significant proportion of the cost of packaging. In order to reduce the cost of the LED industry chain, packaging companies have all used auxiliary materials as the main way to reduce costs.

However, in an environment where prices have already “bottomed out”, it is possible to maintain market share through continuous technological innovation and improved performance to maintain market share. In fact, whether it is phosphor or glue, although performance has entered the bottleneck Period, but innovation is far from over.

Taking phosphors as an example, Liu Ronghui, director of the Rare Earth Luminescence Division, said that with the current consumer demand for products has shifted from “high brightness” to “high quality”, the development of full-spectrum phosphors is imperative. And Jieguo New Materials is expected to lay out new markets by launching an innovative product, Optocoupler Protection Silicone 5960. Chen Yongsheng, general manager of Jieguo New Materials, said, “At present, most of the enterprises of optocoupler rubber use Dow Corning’s glue. Domestic glue companies rarely involve R&D in this area, so there is a great chance.”

From this point of view, standing at the time when the LED industry is about to die and die, it is a foregone conclusion for enterprises that have no technical deposits to face the elimination. Only through technological innovation can they be invincible.
