CSA establishes LED lighting laboratory to meet market demand

November 29, 2011 - CSA International, the world's leading testing and certification body, today announced the establishment of an area of 30,000 square feet in Atlanta, Georgia, to meet the growing demand for energy-efficient lighting equipment products and new lighting standards for 2012. The new laboratory, which provides testing and certification of LED and lighting products, aligns the product with more than 75 different global standards and third-party ENERGY STAR® testing standards.

Rich Weiser, vice president of CSA Group USA and Mexico, said: "As we can provide customers with a full range of services in the same place to meet their overall needs for ENERGY STAR evaluation and lighting product testing and certification, the facility's advanced laboratory We provide our customers with a unique advantage to help them accelerate their time to market, and further expands the overall capabilities and capabilities of CSA Group in the United States so that CSA can better provide strategic regional and localization services to meet Customers' needs in the rapidly growing LED lighting market."

The strength of the laboratory enables testing of safety, light output, heat output, durability and light dispersion for thousands of lighting products. The new laboratory has more than three times the area of CSA's previous lighting laboratory in Atlanta and can test lighting products used in homes, automobiles, ships, airport runways, flashlights or street lights, and other more specialized lighting products such as government or Specific lighting used by the military. The lab also offers the LM79 full suite of tests, complete NRCan testing and automotive headlamp testing services. To ensure that LED lighting products last for thousands of hours, these products are tested under extreme conditions of normal room temperature and room temperature heating to 45 degrees Celsius (113 degrees Fahrenheit). ENERGY STAR®-compliant LED lamps consume only 20%-25% of the power of incandescent lamps, but their lifetime is 25 times longer.

Lithium batteries are primary batteries that have lithium as an anode, mainly including lithium-metal batteries,lithium-ion batteries and li-polymer batteries.however, the lithium-ion batteries and li-polymer batteries which have widespread application in every field of life has solved many problems for human beings ,firstly,as commonly used lithium battery ,li-ion battery has some advantage as :

1.The energy ratio is higher. With high storage energy density, it has reached 460-600wh /kg, about 6-7 times that of lead-acid batteries.

2.The working life is longer, it can reach more than 6 years, and the battery with lithium ferrous phosphate as the positive electrode and charged with 1C DOD  has a record of using it 10,000 times.

Secondly ,the advantage for li-polymer batteries as :

1.No battery leakage problem, the battery does not contain liquid electrolyte since it uses colloidal solid

2.The battery can be designed in many shapes

3.It will have twice the capacity of a lithium-ion battery of the same size

4.Can be made into a single high voltage: liquid electrolyte battery only with the number of cells in series with high voltage, and the polymer batteries as there is no liquid itself, can be made within the single star into multilayer combination to achieve high voltage.
