Located in the northwest corner of West Lake, Gushan is opposite to the bustling center of Hangzhou. It is surrounded by water and is unique. It is the largest island in the lake and the only natural island. Lonely Shandong is connected to the Baidi, and the west is connected to the Xiqiao Bridge. It is shaped like a cow lying in the water and floating in the blue waters of the West Lake. In order to highlight the human landscape and natural essence of the Lonely Mountain, the Yuemiao Management Office has been deploying landscape lights in the Lonely Mountain area since 1990. In 2004, the surrounding mountains were illuminated. In 2008, the opinions of comprehensive experts and citizen tourists were further upgraded. The lights of the gardening and greening were highlighted, and the green light was replaced by warm white light to restore the true color of the plants. The full golden light source created a picture atmosphere.

On June 24th, 2011, West Lake became a world cultural landscape heritage. There are 4 heritage sites in the Gushan Mountain Scenic Area, which also puts higher requirements on the night scene lighting: on the one hand, it is in the background of the "ink painting" Under the same, it is in line with the characteristics of various heritage sites to create a night light effect. On the other hand, it must practice the concept of environmental protection and advocate the ecological West Lake. The night scene lighting of Gushan has undergone many years of changes, and the following problems have existed: First, the aging of the lamps is serious and the power consumption is too large; second, the selection of some buried lights is not suitable for the site conditions; the third is the growth and change of vegetation, and the The lighting needs to be re-adjusted. In view of this, in 2011, the Yuemiao Management Office proposed to upgrade and renovate the energy saving and emission reduction of the landscape lighting along the coast of Beili Lake and the landscape lighting of Pinghu Qiuyue.
