Precautions for cable high voltage test

High-voltage cable test should strictly abide by "electrical safety work regulations." Even in the case of poor working conditions on site, the requirements for safety cannot be reduced in the slightest. The division of labor must be clear and safety precautions should be laid out in detail. At the test site, enclosed barriers or fences should be installed, and the “stopping, high-voltage danger!” signboard should be hung outside and sent to guard. In particular, the other end of the cable must also be guarded and keep the communication unblocked to prevent accidents.

The test device and wiring should meet the safety requirements and the operation must be standardized. During the test, attention should be focused and the operator should stand on the insulating mat. When the line is changed or the end of the test, the test power supply shall be disconnected and discharged, and the high voltage part of the high voltage equipment shall be short-circuited to ground. In the high-voltage direct current test, the cable should be discharged several times and short-circuited to the ground after each occurrence or end of the test, before the cable can be contacted. Other precautions: When opening the cable shaft or cable trench cover, measures should be taken to prevent traffic accidents. Wells should be well-arranged around the wells, make obvious warning signs, and set obstacles to prevent vehicles from entering. In the evening, the cable well should have lighting to prevent pedestrians or vehicles from falling into the well.

Turbine gas should be excluded before entering the cable well. Workers in wells should wear safety helmets and take measures such as fire prevention, waterproofing, and preventing falling objects from falling into the air. Wellheads should be guarded by dedicated personnel.
