TDK Group B82453C*A* series adds B82453C0335A022 new cutting frequency with 22kHz

The T824 Group B82453C*A* series adds a new B82453C0335A022 with a working frequency of 22kHz. The new transponder coil complements the existing 125kHz frequency design for keyless entry and start systems (PEPS) and other lower frequency based access systems.

The new 3D transponder coils also have high inductance values with x, y, and z axes of 30mH, 33mH, and 55mH, respectively, with excellent sensitivity, with x and y axes of 25.5 mV/μT and z-axis of 23.3 mV/μT. . Its sensitivity is the highest in the world, and it is 20% higher than similar competitors with the same size and inductance.

Like the existing 125kHz product line, the new 22kHz coil is also RoHS compliant and measures just 11.5 x 12.5 x 3.6 mm. The component also uses injection molding and laser welding technology, which is extremely rugged in mechanical properties and successfully passed the severe drop test required by PEPS components. In addition, these transponder coils also meet the AEC-Q200 requirements.

Key data

Si/Ge Windows and Wafers

Silicon (Si) Windows manufactured from optical grade silicon are popular for the 1.2 - 7μm spectral region due to their low cost and low density. Due to its low density (half that of germanium or zinc selenide), silicon is ideal for weight sensitive applications, especially those in the 3 - 5μm region. Density is 2.329 g/cm3 and Knoop Hardness is 1150, making it harder and less brittle than germanium.

Germanium is subject to thermal runaway, meaning that the transmission decreases as temperature increases. As such, these germanium windows should be used at temperatures below 100°C. Germanium`s high density (5.33 g/cm3) should be considered when designing for weight-sensitive systems.
