What should I do if the router WAN port cannot obtain an IP address?

I recently purchased a new router and followed the setup guide carefully. However, the router isn't connecting to the network, and the WAN port isn't receiving an IP address. This is a common issue many people face when setting up a router. The WAN port of the router should be connected to the modem or the broadband cable. If you don’t have a modem (also known as an optical cat), simply plug the broadband cable into the router’s WAN port. Then, connect your devices like a desktop computer to any of the LAN ports using an Ethernet cable. Another common issue is selecting the wrong internet access type during setup. Most routers offer options like Broadband Dial-up, Dynamic IP, or Static IP. Choosing the incorrect option can prevent the router from accessing the internet.
