Lu Zhenghong is a specially appointed professor of Yunnan University and director of the Optoelectronic Engineering Technology Research Center. He was recently elected as a member of the Canadian Academy of Engineering. The team he led developed a new optoelectronic chip that allows humans to see things better in the dark. The innovative point of the chip is to integrate infrared photosensitive materials in series with two organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs), first use infrared photosensitive materials to absorb infrared radiation to generate photo-generated carriers, and then use photo-generated carriers to drive OLEDs to produce visible light emission, thereby The purpose of infrared detection and imaging. The chip can not only directly convert infrared radiation into visible light, but also simultaneously capture electrons and holes induced by infrared radiation, so that the conversion efficiency of infrared light to visible light can be broken, up to 5%, close to the theoretical limit of 6.5%.
