How to install a geomembrane permeability coefficient tester?


The geomembrane permeability coefficient tester is designed and manufactured according to the standard SL235-2012, which applies to geosynthetics. This device is used to measure the permeability coefficient of various geomembranes under water pressure. It is suitable for all types of geomembranes with waterproof performance, stable operation, and convenient use.

The installation and operation of the geomembrane permeability coefficient tester are as follows:

  1. Pressure Setting: After turning on the power, press and hold the "Setting" button. Then, press the "Shift" key, followed by the "Adjustment" button. Use "+" and "-" to adjust the value. Press the "Back" button to save the settings. Once the lower limit is adjusted, press the "Save" button to exit.
  2. Time Clearing: To reset the timer, re-start the experiment and keep pressing the "-" key without releasing it. Be careful not to accidentally press it during operation.
  3. Time Review: Long press the "t" key to switch to minute display. Release the key to return to the pressure display.
  4. Zero Adjustment: If the device does not return to zero after starting, long press the "+" key to reset it. Do not press the clear button when there is pressure; instead, release the pressure first before resetting to zero.
  5. Sample Preparation: Each group should include at least 3 samples. Ensure the size matches the sample container. Open the container, fill it with water, place the sealing ring, sample, permeable stone, and pressure ring in order, then clamp the test specimen securely.
  6. Pressure Regulation: Gradually increase the pressure using the regulating valve until reaching 100kPa (unless otherwise specified). Check the pipeline and joints for any leaks during this process.
  7. Testing Procedure: Apply the specified pressure and wait for 10 minutes. Record the initial reading and measure the water temperature. The interval between readings should be determined based on the amount of water seepage. For example, take a reading every 60 minutes, and extend the interval if the seepage decreases gradually.
  8. Stability Check: The test duration should continue until the difference in seepage between two intervals is less than 2%. At that point, the seepage value from the next interval will be used as the final test result.
