The new integrated DPD demodulator improves system performance while reducing solution cost, PCB size and power consumption for 4G, 3G and 2G wireless base stations and repeaters.
The IDTF1320 and IDTF1370 are high performance, low power DPD demodulators optimized for 400 MHz to 1200 MHz and 1300 MHz to 2900 MHz wireless systems. The fully integrated solution includes a demodulator, digital step attenuator (DSA) and a highly discrete single-pole, double-throw (SP2T) RF switch for minimal system solution cost, PCB area and bill of materials. The device's innovative architecture and design, as well as its high level of integration, saves more than 1 watt of power compared to traditional solutions. As a result, heat loss and energy usage can be reduced, cooling needs can be alleviated, smaller equipment shapes can be designed, and operating costs can be reduced. In addition, the new DPD IC provides excellent linearity and high bandwidth, making it an ideal and flexible solution for linearizing any type of BTS transmitter.

The new DPD includes a highly discrete SP2T RF switch that can be easily integrated into a Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) system, while the integrated Glitch-FreeTM DSA enables dynamic adjustment to optimize the power consumption of the incoming signal arriving at the demodulator. And, the Zero-DistorTIonTM demodulator can directly drive an analog-to-digital converter (ADC), eliminating the need for an IF variable gain amplifier (IF VGA) in most applications.
In addition, the extremely high dynamic range of the IDTF1320 and IDTF1370 improves DPD loop performance, minimizing adjacent channel power leakage ratio (ACLR) and error vector magnitude (EVM). This brings better overall system transmitter performance and enables wireless device vendors to deliver higher bandwidth Internet and data services over existing frequency bands – a key in today's high-load wireless communications infrastructure The challenge.
