The "pull-and-pull combination" approach, that is, the elimination of non-standard enterprises through industry rectification, on the one hand, should speed up the transformation and upgrading of lead-acid batteries and open up a positive development channel for the industry. This view was also recognized by experts and companies at the annual meeting.

Many battery companies frankly stated that lead-acid batteries do not have any pollution during use, and that production pollution is completely controllable as long as management is strengthened. Shen Shaoping, chairman of Zhejiang New Energy Power Co., Ltd., pointed out an effective method of preventing and controlling pollution from objective production environment and subjective worker behavior habits: “On the one hand, it reduces pollution sources through production testing and upgrading of environmental protection equipment; on the Other hand, Through the education and guidance of the employees' professional life behavior, subjectively regulate and reduce the probability of employee pollution."

As the largest electric vehicle battery manufacturer in China, Zhang Tianren, chairman of Zhejiang Tianneng Group, stated that “the industry’s starting point is to ensure the sustainability of the industry’s development through the environmental protection and market changes of lead-acid batteries. Regulatory companies will gain more room for development and opportunities.At present, the battery industry needs to accelerate the pace of transformation and upgrading, pay attention to environmental protection, while also accelerating the innovation and improvement of battery process technology, to become a new type of modern battery company, to synchronize products with the international community. Executive Director of the China Energy Research Institute of Peking University and Yichang Liang, Vice Chairman of the China Green Energy Development Fund Management Committee, said: “Statistical data from the United States show that lead pollution in lead-acid battery production is far less than that of power generation, aviation, and steelmaking. This shows that many years of technological improvements, industrial innovations, and equipment upgrades have made it possible for many large-scale battery companies in China to fully implement safe and clean production. As long as the company itself works hard, social supervision, and policy guidance, lead pollution can be effectively controlled. Companies like Tianneng and Chaojie are constantly self-regulating themselves in the field of clean energy management and technology upgrades and are an example of clean production in China. China's lead-acid battery production is still at the leading international level, and the industry must maintain its confidence."

The relevant person in charge of Huaxia Power Group stated that as a lead-acid battery manufacturer, the industry should actively respond to and support the rectification of national ministries and commissions. Before the industry was rectified, there were 1,700 environmental records in the Ministry of Environmental Protection, and the total number of small and large productions was about 3,000. The production capacity of lead-acid batteries in China is virtually the same as that of the United States, but there are only about 30 manufacturers of lead-acid batteries in the United States. Environmental remediation can promote the industry to reshuffle, and it is a very big opportunity for companies with social responsibility.

Participants estimated that in 2012, the production capacity of large lead-acid battery companies in China will double, and in the fierce market competition, companies need to improve their competitiveness in terms of environmental protection, quality and service. After the pressure of policy rectification and market reshuffle, the industry needs to obtain more active support to better implement environmental protection work and improve the technological content of products.
