Sun Moonlight grabs the pro-effect... chip factory turns to single star Ke Jinpeng, Eckel

Sun Moonlight has successfully acquired 100% of the defective products, but this move has also triggered some concerns. Some customers are worried that after acquiring full equity, the company may face issues related to over-concentration of orders. As a result, several evaluation plans have been transferred to companies like Xingke Jinpeng and Aikeer. It is reported that MediaTek, which is currently involved in ASE and counterfeit products, might lead the shift by transferring some of its orders to Jiangsu Changdian. Meanwhile, Qualcomm, a global leader in mobile phone chips, could also consider moving some of its business to Aikeel or Licheng. Industry observers believe that as ASE gains more control over the counterfeit products, the wafer fabrication sector may accelerate its efforts to diversify OEM sources. ASE has responded to these developments, stating that the integration of its operations with the counterfeit products will enhance overall packaging and testing technologies. This should be beneficial for IC design companies, and many in the chip industry are reportedly pleased with this trend. Regarding customer orders, ASE believes that such shifts are a natural part of the growth of the domestic supply chain. Even without mergers and acquisitions, these customers would likely evaluate and possibly transfer their orders. Although the board’s stance has softened, the conflict between the two sides has expanded from stock price disputes to broader anti-monopoly debates. The counterfeit products are now seeking to raise the issue at the Taiwan Fair, hoping that fair members will either oppose or conditionally release the proposal. So far, ASE has not publicly addressed the concerns raised by the counterfeit products, but it appears that the company is preparing explanations to clarify that the product shareholders will be sold, ensuring the second public acquisition proceeds smoothly. In addition, the company has encouraged existing customers to begin evaluating or planning the transfer of their orders to entities such as Jiangsu Changdian, Aikel, or other Taiwanese peers. According to insiders, MediaTek is considering the mainland market opportunities and may be among the first to transfer recent orders to Jiangsu Changjiang Electronics Co., although the company has not confirmed these rumors. As for Qualcomm, which currently relies on Sun Moonlight, Aikel, and the counterfeit products as key partners, it is believed that once Sun Moonlight gains full control, the previously scattered packaging and testing orders may need to be re-evaluated. It's possible that Qualcomm may increase its order volume with Ike, potentially making it a future partner in the process.
