In line with this mission, seven key government departments—including the Ministry of Public Security, the Central Cyberspace Administration, the Central Office for Civilized Society, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Transport, and the State Administration of Work Safety—jointly issued a notice to organize the sixth "National Traffic Safety Day" (122) under the theme of "Civilized and Safe Travel," from now until the end of December.
The notice encourages local authorities to gain support from party committees and governments, quickly establish leadership groups for the 122 campaign, and plan a series of themed activities. It emphasizes the importance of leveraging the innovative power of various departments, encouraging public participation, and strengthening collaboration across different levels. The goal is to create a vibrant environment where people are more aware of traffic safety and society collectively works towards building a civilized transportation system.
According to VR Network, the Guangdong Provincial Public Security Department, along with other provincial offices, organized a "Safe and Civilized Travel" campaign at the Tianhe Sports Center in Guangzhou. The event showcased advanced law enforcement equipment used by the city's traffic police, drawing many citizens who were eager to take photos and experience virtual reality simulations. This interactive approach helped raise public engagement and awareness about road safety.
To further enhance road safety among primary and secondary school students in Guangdong, the Provincial Public Security Department has developed a unique "Guangdong Student Road Traffic Safety Reader" over the past six months. This educational material has been distributed to schools and kindergartens throughout the province, aiming to instill a strong sense of safety from an early age.
Since 2012, the Provincial Public Security Department’s Joint Civilization Office, the Department of Education, and the Department of Transportation have been conducting the "Safe and Civilized Drivers" selection campaign. On the same day as the event, 15 professional drivers were honored with the title of "Guangdong Province Safe and Civilized Driver." Additionally, the top 10 traffic controllers from the province's traffic police system were announced, recognizing their outstanding contributions to road safety.
