The target products for this phase-out are incandescent lamps for general lighting, excluding reflective incandescent lamps, spotlights, decorative lamps and other types of incandescent lamps and special-purpose incandescent lamps. However, the price of energy-saving lamps and LED lighting is very different from that of incandescent lamps. Many people in the industry have questioned the feasibility of this policy.
"Is this policy feasible? First, we must look at LED technology and its cost-effectiveness. Second, we must see that the implementation of the country is not enough, and we can resolutely implement it." Huang Shuhua, deputy general manager of Donglin Electronics, told the high-tech LED reporter.
Is it feasible for China to phase out incandescent lamps before 2016?
At present, more incandescent lamps are used in cities with third line and below. Taking a 450-lumen LED lamp as an example, the current efficacy of a mature product is equivalent to a 40W incandescent lamp and an 11-15W energy-saving lamp, but the price of the LED lamp is 80-90 yuan, while the 40W incandescent lamp is 1 yuan. The energy-saving lamp is about 10 yuan.
Therefore, the difference in market prices is different, which has given birth to the choice of purchasing power.
"The price difference between incandescent lamps and LED lamps is very different. A common person who used to use 1 yuan for incandescent lamps is not willing to take 70-80 yuan to buy more energy-saving and environmentally-friendly LED lighting", NVC Lighting Director Chen Yifei told reporters. In order to promote the general promotion of LED lighting, the technical cost of LED products should be greatly reduced and the price should be lowered.
More than a decade ago, the price of energy-saving lamps was as high as 70-80 yuan to 100 yuan, so the lowest price is only a few dollars, and the general retail price is more than 10 yuan. "Only the government, enterprises and other forces can promote the LED to achieve comprehensive promotion," said Chen Yifei.
In this regard, Huang Shuhua also expressed a similar point of view, he believes that if the 450 lumens of LED lights, can be sold for about 30 yuan, it can be accepted for second and third tier cities and their rural markets.
However, it is still difficult to reduce the price of LED light sources to acceptable levels for consumers in 2016. This requires a strong and correct guidance from the government. "The elimination of incandescent lamps and the use of LED lighting can not solve the problem by market adjustment. Just like the 'home appliances going to the countryside', it is the most realistic to be able to give some support policies or affordable guidance to the people," Huang Shuhua said.
Now that rare earth prices are rising rapidly, the price of energy-saving lamps has skyrocketed, which has made the incandescent lamp business very hot. This is a dangerous signal.
China is the world's largest lighting market, but the technology of LED midstream is weak. Chen Yifei believes that in the case of relatively slow elimination of incandescent lamps in China, the LED lighting industry needs the government's strong support to form a unified and standardized LED standard, and increase the independent research and development investment of enterprises to make the LED market develop healthily and orderly.
