Baidu.com's operators and technology service providers Beijing Baidu.com Technology Co., Ltd. and Baidu.com.cn (Beijing) Co., Ltd. believe that sogou mobile browsers hijack Baidu.com's search service traffic and constitute unfair competition. Co., Ltd. and Beijing Sogou Technology Development Co., Ltd. went to court. The reporter learned today that the People’s Court of Haidian District of Beijing has accepted the case a few days ago.

According to Baidu's lawsuit, when the user started Sogou mobile browser software and set the search bar search engine to Baidu search and enter keywords, the two defendants set a number of drop-down prompts to Sogou.com in a prominent position in the drop-down prompt box. , to guide users to use information services operated by Sogou.com. At the same time, the two defendants also used the above information service pages to provide paid promotion information and advertising content to obtain economic benefits.

In view of the above, Baidu believes that Sogou’s behavior will force Baidu.com's search service traffic to be directed to Sogou.com, which is a typical traffic hijacking behavior. This behavior not only seriously interferes with the normal use of Baidu.com by mobile phone users, reduces the access of mobile phone users to the Baidu search results page, and captures the trading opportunities that should be attributed to Baidu. It also misleads users to misidentify the information service for Baidu.com. Baidu has some kind of associative relationship that confuses the source of services. The above behavior of the two companies has constituted unfair competition. For this reason, Baidu appealed to the court to require the defendant company to stop unfair competition and eliminate its influence, and compensate economic losses and reasonable expenses totaling more than RMB 1 million.
