The K-5 uses a new generation SAFOX IX+ wide area autofocus system with 11 focus points (9 points in the middle is a cross-type focus point). The system has undergone a completely new design, which has greatly improved the accuracy of autofocusing due to the increased measurement of the light source type when shooting. The K-5 also offers the shutter release option - in AF. In the S (Single AF) mode, focus priority or shutter release priority can be selected in AF.
