"Three products" strategy leads the development direction of LED industry

"Several Opinions of the General Office of the State Council on Launching the "Three-product" Special Action of the Consumer Goods Industry to Create a Good Market Environment" proposes to implement the "three-product" strategy of increasing varieties, improving quality and creating brands, and developing smart and healthy consumer goods. Intelligent energy-saving appliances, smart lithium-electric bicycles, intelligent lighting products, etc., to meet the needs of people's consumption upgrades, to achieve a more stable, more effective and more sustainable development of the consumer goods industry.

Smart lighting is not a new concept. The current LED industry has entered a low-cost era. Looking for a new development direction is a big trend. Smart lighting is one of the most important areas with great market potential. In 2014, the global smart lighting market was about 1.544 billion US dollars. In 2015, due to the global economic downturn, the growth rate was lower than expected. However, with the development of industry technology and the positive promotion of manufacturers, it will continue to grow. It is expected that in 2019. The market size can reach 14.353 billion US dollars. Philips official data estimates that the global lighting market revenue will reach 90 billion euros in 2020, of which up to 57.4% of revenue from LED lighting and control systems. The intelligent lighting control system can automatically collect various information in the lighting system according to environmental changes, objective requirements and user requirements, and perform corresponding feedback control of working state information to achieve the desired control effect. However, if the intelligent control system controls different lighting fixtures, it needs to be based on a communication protocol between the devices. At present, due to different development backgrounds and functional characteristics, there are many intelligent lighting communication protocols on the market. The main foreign applications for intelligent lighting control systems are:

First, the DALI protocol

DALI, as part of the IEC929 standard, provides communication rules for lighting equipment. It came out in the mid-1990s, and commercial applications began in 1998. In Europe, DALI has been accepted as a new standard by ballast manufacturers. When formulating standards, the DALI protocol clearly defines not the development of the most functional and complex building control system, but the establishment of a well-structured ballast-specific lighting system. Therefore, DALI's specialty is not used to build complex bus systems, but for indoor intelligent lighting control.

The DALI protocol is an asynchronous serial communication protocol. The digital signal is compiled by Manchester. Compared with the traditional analog technology controlled dimming, the DALI-based digital control dimming technology features:

1, dimming is addressable, bringing a lot of flexibility to control

2, dimming anti-interference ability, wide range of dimming

3, dimming installation is simple, dimming power supply can quickly install wiring.

Second, the EIB agreement

The EIB protocol is a control-oriented network communication protocol. The purpose of communication is to realize the interaction between the sensor and the actuator, starting with the exchange of the defined data structure and ending with the functional application. Its European-based building automation (BA) and home automation (HA) standards have been adopted by the Consumer Electronics Manufacturers Association (CENA) as the home network EIA-776 standard.

It is used in all branches of the home building sector such as lighting, security, HVAC, and time event management. It is characterized by distribution, interoperability, flexibility and openness. Recent developments have shown that the EIB protocol is increasingly being applied to intelligent lighting systems.

Third, the KNX protocol

In May 1999, the three major bus protocols EIB, BatiBus and EHSA in Europe merged to form the Konnex Association and proposed the KNX protocol. The KNX protocol is based on EIB, taking into account the physical layer specifications of BatiBus and EHS, and absorbing the advantages of BatiBus and EHS distribution modes, providing a complete solution for home and building automation.

The KNX-based system can connect all the components through a bus, each component can work independently, and at the same time, it can be centrally monitored and controlled by the central control computer. The components programmed by the computer can perform tasks such as switching, control, monitoring, etc. independently, and can be combined according to requirements, so that the function can be flexibly changed without increasing the number of components.

Fourth, C-Bus agreement

The C-Bus Lighting Management System is an intelligent, programmable lighting management system developed by Gerard Industries Dty Ltd in Australia in the early 1990s. Each component in the system has a built-in microprocessor to transmit, identify and memorize information in the form of data signals, and through a pair of unshielded twisted pair (UTP) as a bus architecture, the units of the system can work together to each other. External lighting and other facilities are controlled.

C-Bus is a two-wire lighting system that uses five types of cables to connect all components into a network. Various complex functions are set by software. The protocol on the system bus is CSMA/CD, and each network segment can be connected to 100 units. The network segments can be flexibly connected. For example, network bridges, hubs, and switches are used. The number of network segments is not limited. It adopts a free topology and can be designed into a topological structure such as a line, a tree or a star. The networking is very convenient.
