Diodes Incorporated has launched the bidirectional MOSFET DMN2023UCB4, designed to offer superior protection for single-cell and dual-cell lithium batteries. This new device features a very low on-resistance of less than 26mΩ, which helps minimize power consumption and improve efficiency. Its compact chip-scale package, measuring just 1.8mm x 1.8mm and under 0.4mm in thickness, makes it ideal for space-constrained applications such as smartphones, tablets, cameras, and portable media players.
The DMN2023UCB4 is particularly well-suited for charging circuits that use low-side battery switches, thanks to its dual N-channel common drain configuration. For high-end connectivity needs, Diodes also introduced the DMP2100UCB9, featuring a dual P-channel common-source MOSFET design. Both devices are available in 10,000-unit quantities and are aimed at applications where size, weight, and battery life are critical factors.
In addition to its low on-resistance, the DMN2023UCB4 offers a gate threshold voltage of less than 1V, ensuring reliable performance even at low voltages. It also includes robust electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection, withstanding ESD voltages up to 2kV. These features make it a strong choice for battery management systems, load switching, and other power-sensitive applications.
