Diodes Incorporated has recently launched the bidirectional MOSFET DMN2023UCB4, offering enhanced protection for both single-cell and dual-cell lithium batteries. This new device is designed to minimize power consumption with an ultra-low on-resistance of less than 26mΩ, making it ideal for applications where energy efficiency is crucial. Its compact chip-scale package, measuring just 1.8mm x 1.8mm and under 0.4mm in height, allows for more space-saving designs, which can be used to increase battery capacity in small devices.
The DMN2023UCB4 features a dual N-channel common drain configuration, making it particularly well-suited for low-side battery switches in charging circuits. For more advanced applications requiring high-end connectivity, Diodes also introduced the DMP2100UCB9, which offers a dual P-channel common-source design. Both devices are targeted at the growing market of portable electronics such as smartphones, tablets, cameras, and other consumer products that demand compact size, lightweight, and extended battery life.
In addition to its low on-resistance, the DMN2023UCB4 includes a gate threshold voltage of less than 1V, which improves performance at low voltages and ensures reliable operation even under challenging conditions.
